Sports Scholarships

These scholarships send deserving young men and women to various summer athletic camps in our area.

The programs:

• Take place between June and August of each year
• Focus on either a particular sport like Basketball or Soccer, or feature a full curriculum of team sport play
• Teach camp graduates new skills that will enable them to excel on and off the court or field
• Allow winners to meet other talented players and even get to pose with the coach for a picture to take home and show to friends and family

This scholarship program is an expression of Deschutes Water & Sewer Utility’s historic commitment to the community on behalf of our customers.

Summer Internships

Each summer, Deschutes Water & Sewer Utility offers a limited number of paid summer internships to high school graduates and college students. This program gives students the opportunity to connect with the workforce while increasing their knowledge of on-the-job skills and responsibilities. Students apply each spring and are selected based on relevant background, interests, and a demonstrated ability to meet the following requirements:

• Working knowledge of personal computer systems is preferred
• Dependability and availability during co-op business hours
• Willingness to develop an interest in and knowledge of the ideals and objectives of the co-op overall and that of team and department to which the intern is assigned
• Desire to learn and cooperate with fellow employees and his/her supervisor
• Provide 2 professional recommendations to our human resources department
